Daniela Hantuchova : the slovakian beauty : life and tennis

Hantuchova's tour debut and early results were auspicious. Her performance temporarily crumbled, as a result of the divorce of her parents in 2003. In recent years, however, this aspect of her tennis has been vastly improved The 2008 Australian Open saw Hantuchova reach her first Grand Slam semi-final. She won her first three matches (against American Vania King, Frenchwoman Alizé Cornet and Spaniard Virginia Ruano Pascual) without losing a set, but was tested in the fourth round by a tenacious Maria Kirilenko. Despite the Russian making a strong start, Daniela battled back to victory in three sets, 1-6 6-4 6-4. Her quarter-final match was against the Polish teenager Agnieska Radwanska, who had dispatched Russians Svetlana Kuznetsova (the number two seed) and Nadia Petrova in earlier rounds. Daniela convincingly beat Radwanska 6-2 6-2.[8] She lost to Ana Ivanovi? in a semifinal 0-6 6-3 6-4,[9] despite an early lead of 6-0 2-0. She subsequently claimed that Ivanovi? had been putting her off by squeaking her trainers on the court before serving, a claim which Ivanovi? disputes.

2007.09.28 - Partie 2 sur 2 En Belgique, le couple Wallon-Flamand traverse une nouvelle crise. Le divorce est-il réellement envisagé ? Bloc-notes de Sophie Claude: De toute ma carrière de journaliste, c'est la première fois que je suis envoyée en reportage... de l'autre côté de la frontière française ! D'habitude, je pars loin à l'étranger, et le plus souvent, dans les pays arabophones -- puisque je parle l'arabe. Certains journalistes (mais ce n'est pas mon cas) affirment que si vous ne prenez pas l'avion pour aller couvrir un événement, ça ne vaut pas le coup. Et pourtant... enquêter en Belgique sur la division entre Wallons et Flamands s'est avéré être une expérience très intéressante. Tout d'abord, ma collègue - une journaliste reporter d'image - et moi-même n'avions aucune difficulté pour aborder et interviewer des gens. Tout le monde nous accueillait : qu'il s'agisse des ultras-nationalistes du Vlaams Belang ; des francophones qui subissent la pression séparatiste des flamands ; ou encore des enfants dans une classe (à qui nous avons demandé s'ils souhaitaient la division de leur pays ; ce à quoi ils ont répondu « non ! » en ch?ur). Venons-en aux faits -- à savoir, si nous avons eu l'impression que la Belgique était sur le point de divorcer. Cette impression était fluctuante, en fonction des endroits où nous allions et des personnes que nous interrogions. Il nous a semblé que la plupart des habitants de Bruxelles -- une ville véritablement internationale - s'accommodaient bien de la configuration actuelle du pays. Mais en s'approchant de la frontière entre la Flandre et la Wallonie, nous avons traversé des villes où francophones et flamands ne s'entendent plus. Les Belges flamands (ces termes sont-ils contradictoires ? oui, si vous vous adressez au Vlaams Belang) sont, grosso modo, davantage prêts au partage du pays, puisque leur économie est plus prospère qu'en Wallonie. Dans la ville d'Antwerp, située au fin fond de la Flandre, vous percevez avec acuité ce qui sépare les deux régions. Nous avions le sentiment d'être déjà en Hollande, de l'autre côté de la frontière. Culturellement, il nous a semblé qu'Antwerp n'avait pas grand chose à voir avec la Wallonie - une région au climat plus « méditerranéen », et beaucoup plus proche de la France... que de la Hollande. Mais le vrai facteur de différenciation entre les deux régions belges, c'est la langue : très peu de personnes parlent français à Antwerp, et très peu de gens parlent néerlandais en Wallonie. Nous nous demandions si le concept de Belgique avait toujours un sens. Et nous avons tenté de mettre le doigt sur les points communs entre les deux communautés. Un passé commun ? Oui et non. La Belgique est un pays relativement jeune, quoi qu'il en soit. Un goût prononcé pour la bière ? Tout à fait. Une façon de cuisiner les moules ? D'une certaine façon, oui, même si ce plat a la préférence des Wallons. Des lieux de villégiature ? Oui, sans aucun doute. Les Wallons passent leurs vacances en Flandre, et vice versa. Des liens économiques ? On nous l'a certifié, quoi qu'en pensent les partisans du Vlaams Belang. Les entreprises nationales ont des succursales dans tout le pays. En outre, la Flandre a beau être plus riche que la Wallonie, sa voisine a aussi son utilité : elle fournit de l'eau à la Flandre. Et les femmes wallones ont en moyenne plus d'enfants que les Flamandes. Ce qui signifie que la population flamande vieillit. Ces deux régions pourraient avoir besoin l'une de l'autre, dans un futur proche ou lointain... Qui sait?

Jake & Paulina 1992-078 Paulina searches Kevin's office

Convinced Grant and Kevin are out for blood, Jake wants more than ever to get hold of the file Kevin must have on him. He is discussing this with Paulina and she ends up shouting at him, saying she can't discuss it any more when Grant is the man she will marry. Paulina has made the plans for them to travel to Reno the next day in order to settle the divorce. Jake insists Paulina go behind Grant's back and help him.... She is caught, but not by Kevin, and wriggles her way comfortably out of the situation. Kevin realises Paulina must have seen the address, just doesn't know how she'll act on the info. Back at D&M Jake confirms the Lassiter address is where he grew up. Reno is put on hold as the two of them skip out heading to Lassiter......
